The year 2010 marked a turning point in the evolution of online poker French, due to the enactment of new legislation on online gaming. Multiplication of rooms and tournaments, omnipresent celebrities, creating new teams of players … Diving in the online poker tricolor version 2.0.
Bye-bye. Com, hello. Com
The highlight of this year 2010 was of course the passage of the poker rooms. Com early June.
Finished play poker international players lights are now required to play them on any of the 23 rooms approved by the ARJEL (Regulatory Authority for Online Games), and must be content with two variants, and Hold’em Omaha.
A constraint that has immediately raised the ire of the online gaming community, like the rake too high on the main rooms.
Yet, more than 1.3 million accounts were opened on pokerrooms en since the enactment of the May 13, and for three months, over 200 million euros have been wagered by the players for tournaments.
The text is also challenged in recent weeks by several operators (Bwin.fr, BetClick Everest Group), for which the profitability of French cinema is insufficient. All this while the first sanctions against pokerrooms begin to fall …
The people landed in force
Sebastien Chabal and Gael Monfils on Pokerstars, Bruno Solo for PartyPoker , Raymond Domenech for Bwin and Estelle Denis at Everest Poker … After Patrick Bruel and Vikash Dhorasoo Winamax in the year 2010 has seen the “peoplisation” the world of online poker.
Thanks to several pubs and communications operations, more and more big names in sports and show business are now the leading exponents of the largest rooms online in France. Even if their level poker is not always live up to their reputation … Adriana Karembeu would also be next on the list.
A complete and varied
With the passage. Com, rooms are struggling to attract players with a lot of tournaments prize pools ever more impressive. The biggest online tournaments are played today on French Pokerstars.fr (Sunday Special € 200 000 guaranteed) Winamax.fr (Main Event € 100 000 guaranteed) or Everestpoker.fr (Altitude 100, 100 000 guaranteed) .
Many series of tournaments have been launched on the different rooms (FCOOP on Pokerstars FTOPS on Fulltiltpoker.fr, GSOP on the Ongame network …), accessible to all buy-ins.
In addition to gains in real money, the rooms offer more and more all packages and gifts more original than the others. In a cash game, the big tables are scarce. But the “sharks” as Cyril “Don Limit Andre, one of the largest French winners, have seen their earnings curves skyrocket due to lower general level.
The best French players featured
Some poker rooms have also created new teams, this time composed of experienced players. This is particularly the case of Team PokerStars and online, or EurosportPoker and his team consisting of some of the best French players on the web. Note that the independent teams are beginning to emerge, the latest being “The Gamblers.”
Several online prodigies, who had already distinguished themselves on. Com in the early months of the year, also joined the teams already in existence: one can cite Mikael “MetzMagny” Oestreicher and members of limpers at Full Tilt Poker.
So 2010 was a transition year for the busy online poker French. Its development is expected to accelerate in 2011 with the scheduled review of the law on online games and the emergence of new operators into the market of online poker …
After a successful year 2009, the French have really swept the major tournament cashes in 2010, even clinching the world championship title at the WSOP. Confirmation due to many positive developments at the live poker tri-color.
WSOP: Vanessa Hellebuyck summit
One thing is certain: 2010 was an excellent vintage year for French poker live, perhaps the best season in terms of results.
Significant performance this year is undoubtedly the band obtained by Vanessa Hellebuyck in the Ladies WSOP tournament. A French world champion, this is an event that was not expected!
Summer in Vegas has also led to other nice rushes, as six other lights have managed to hang a final table: Ludovic Lacay (4th Pot Limit Omaha $ 10,000 to $ 262,208), Nicolas Levi (5th in the NLHE Shootout $ 5,000 to $ 92,543), William Darcourt (3rd NLHE Triple Chance of $ 3,000 to $ 223,459), but also Klinghammer Thibault, Bruno and Patrick Launais Hanoteau.
In the Main Event, 26 Blues have been paid (including Nicolas Babel 38th, 41st and Luis Damian David Benyamine 58th), which is a new national record. Ultimately, our French have gleaned over 120 cashes in 2010 WSOP .
Flood ITM on the circuit
The EFA has again been a supplier of many fine results for French players.
Of the other major tournaments on the circuit, it should be mentioned first the final table doubling tricolor statements WSOP Europe, with Nicolas Levi and Marc Inizan, 5th and 7th respectively.
On the World Poker Tour circuit, we note the very nice second place at the WPT Paris Antoine Amourette the ACF, the 3rd place in Amnéville Boujenah Ilan and William Cescut 2nd place in Marrakech.
As often happens, the circuit of European Poker Tour has also proven to be a purveyor of results: note the 7th place in Deauville Stéphane Albertini (Elky 9th), 4th place in Copenhagen Kerignard Yoran, 3rd place Marc Inizan Berlin, Herve Costa fourth final of the Monte Carlo (Hairston 7th, Guerfi 8th), 3rd place Arnaud Mattern in Tallinn, the 7th place of Bruno Launais in Vienna and finally that of Manuel Bevand in Prague just before the end of the year.
We will also remember the victory of Vikash Dhorasoo during the final of the BPT (Barriere Poker Tour), 2nd place Nicolas Cardyn Championships in Belgium, or even the 5th place of Antoine Amourette the APPT Sydney, let alone a multitude of other final tables …
French classification gains of 2010, the podium is made up of David Benyamine ($ 1,188,194 with a 4th place at the Poker Cup in Marrakech 50 000 dollars), Raphael Kroll ($ 1,126,215, second in the final PPT ) and Fabrice Soulier ($ 925,000). In short, a great harvest of results and dollars worldwide, as the French poker had never yet known.
Second part of our record of French live poker in 2010, between recrudescence of major tournaments, sponsorships, and a revival for circle games.
The French Poker Review Live 2010 – Part 1
France, land of majors
But all these achievements would not have been possible without the emergence of several tournaments confirmed in France. The final of the PPT (Partouche Poker Tour) Cannes has become an unmissable event, while the two French WPT (Paris and Amnéville) proved to be very successful.
Multiplication circuits hexagonal (TBP, TPP, France … Poker Series) has further increased the supply of live tournament in France. And although some have experienced some difficulties: we remember the revolt of dealers after the final TPP, the case of cheating orchestrated by Ali Tekingamçak, or the mismanagement of the bubble in Amnéville …
Sponsorship has also grown with the opening of the market for online games: new teams of French players formed ( Eurosport Poker , … PMU) and others have expanded (Team Barrier Winamax .. .), allowing a substantial increase in the number of sponsored players on the live circuit.
And transfers, like those of Alexia Portal and Guillaume de la Gorce Winamax at Full Tilt, are not yet complete …
The appearance of players’ management agencies 100% French (United Sports Marketing, The Korporation, Original or Free Consulting Clover Agency) is not foreign, as more than 50 players are now represented.
The teams have also experienced changes in their operations: the physical and mental preparation, as in Winamax (before the old brothers Jerome and Fabrice Jeannet Fencers at the Gate Team), have thus emerged.
New breath for circle games
Finally, we observe that the French casinos, despite the economic crisis that affects them, offer more and more poker tables. The Parisian gambling clubs, among which notes the reopening of the old Concorde as the circle Cadet, never empty: they also offer a selection of games and tournaments ever wider.
Some peoples have also taken advantage of the 2010 “perfer”, especially in tournaments over the capital, in addition to the victory at Enghien Dhorasoo (269,000 dollars in prize money for “Vikash24″ in 2010), we note the regularity of Bruno “Kool Shen “Lopes (168 000 dollars in earnings, much of which the WPT Paris).
